Dining Locations

The Great Hall

The Great Hall boasts a grand experience like no other. Located in the campus’ flagship building, Carter Hall, the Great Hall was once the South’s largest and most regal ballroom and dining facility. Covenant continues that tradition by creating and serving each meal in this all you care to eat dining facility. Open 7 days a week, we invite you to check out the variety of stations within including but not limited to:

  • Interaction: Food made the way you want it, in front of you. Featuring a variety of concepts from artisan salads to burritos built to order.
  • Homestyle: We aren't going to compare it to mom's cooking, but these classics like slow roasted turkey and mashed potatoes are a great addition to any meal.
  • Hearth: Offering fresh, brick oven backed comfort food and Italian favorites from pizza and calzones to baked ziti and breadsticks.
  • Deli: A build your own sandwich or wrap deli station featuring fresh baked bread and hearty soup. Pick up a piece of hand fruit and some freshly made bistro chips while you are there.
  • Garden: Local and seasonal ingredients freshly presented for you to make your own artisan salad with fresh greens and innovative toppings.
  • The Zone: Avoiding certain allergens? This station offers menu items that have been prepared without Wheat, Egg, Milk, Soy, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Fish, Sesame and Shellfish. Please note that while we take every precaution to produce menu items free of all allergens, we are a facility that handles all major allergens in our kitchen.

Meal Plans

Covenant Dining’s goal is to provide the best possible dining experience. That starts by selecting the meal plan that best suits you.

Dining Plans - On Campus Students

Students living in one of the on campus residence halls will be able to utilize the Full Meal Plan in the Great Hall. This meal plan allows you to scan your ID an unlimited number of times during each meal period, seven days a week. The Full Meal Plan comes with $50 in Blink Bucks.

Dining Plans - Off Campus & Commuter Students

Students living off campus, or commuting to Covenant, have the option of purchasing a Full Meal Plan or a Block Style Meal Plan. The two block style meal plans that are available are the 130 Block Plan with $25 in Blink Bucks or the 65 Block Plan with $10 in Blink Bucks. The block style plans allow you to eat in the Great Hall during any meal period, seven days a week. In addition, you may also use the Block Plans to pay for a friend or guest.

Blink Bucks

Blink Bucks is a campus currency that comes with your chosen meal plan acting as campus debit card. Blink Bucks are accepted at The Blink to purchase food, snacks, or coffee and in the Great Hall for a meal or to pay for an Eco To Go Box. Blink Buck's cannot be exchanged for cash, and do not carry over to the following semester. Anyone can add more Blink Buck's to a dining plan by stopping by the Great Hall cashier station or emailing covenantdining@tsunoi-toso.com.

Food Allergies and Special Diets

Covenant Dining Services is committed to providing menus emphasizing lean proteins, fresh fruits and vegetables, vegetarian and vegan options, hormone-free dairy products, sustainable seafood, whole grains, and zero trans fat.

When it comes to food allergies there are eight food items that account for almost 90 percent of food allergic reactions: Wheat, Milk, Egg, Soy, Fish, Shellfish, Peanuts and Tree Nuts. These items are identified on each of our menus with icons and appropriate verbiage.

We work hard to identify all dishes that are prepared with these select items and in addition we advise diners with allergies to do following:

  • Pay attention to entrée name. Dishes made with common allergens often have that allergen mentioned in the entrée name.
  • Establish a relationship with the chef. Simple conversations with the chef in your daily visit to the dining halls can make your dining experience a lot easier. The chef can go over ingredients used in recipes and how the meal was prepared.
  • Read labels! Our chefs will be happy to tour the kitchen with you so you may view labels of the foods you will be eating.

When in doubt... If there is ever a question about an entrée, we recommend you avoid consuming it.

Contact Dining services at covenantdining@tsunoi-toso.com to fill out the Allergenic and Dietary Need form.

Dining Services makes every attempt to identify ingredients that may cause allergenic reactions for those with food allergies and to instruct our food production staff on the severity of food allergies. In addition, we label items with all possible allergen-containing ingredients, however, there is always a risk of contamination. There is also a possibility that manufacturers of the commercial foods we use could change the formulation at any time, without notice. Customers concerned with food allergies need to be aware of this risk.

ECO TO-GO PROGRAM

We know that students are busy and often need to eat on the run, or that sometimes its nice to eat outside and enjoy the beautiful views the mountain has to offer. These needs make to-go dining very popular on our campus but also generates massive amounts of waste. Much of this waste is diverted from landfills by utilizing recyclable and compostable packaging but Eco-Ware aims to avoid the use of this packaging altogether by shifting from single-use to reusable containers.

How does eco-ware work in the Great Hall?

Let the cashier know that you would like to take food to go and present them with your eco token, empty container, or purchase a container for $6. The cashier will give you a clean Eco-Ware container and a to-go hot or cold beverage cup when they swipe you into the Great Hall.

Now fill the container with whatever you would like, from any station. Keep in mind that the container must close, but you can still choose to take a piece of hand fruit as well.

No need to stop back at the cashier stand, just exit and enjoy your meal.

When you're finished, empty the container and return it to the cashier or greeter at the Great Hall. They will take your dirty container and give you a eco token.

Now the cycle repeats and you will reduce your environmental footprint by using a container again and again!

This program is available seven days a week during any meal period. Please note that you must leave with your meal.
